Day 8

Visited the Longmen Grottoes which are as many as 100,000 Chinese Buddhist statues that are in caves along the Yi River. Some of the statues date back to around 300 A.D. and some as early as 900 A.D. The main Longmen Grotto is the most impressive part with the largest statue is 57 ft tall.

Day 9

We visited the Shoalin Temple which is the longest standing temple in China. We first saw an impressive acrobatic performance and, what I thought was the most impressive, throwing a nettle through a sheet of glass and hitting a balloon on the other side.
